Aquavita - Day 4 south before west

With a northeasterly wind we couldn't go southwest in a 180° line exactly. Our courses of sailing was either southwest 200° or northwest 280°. Since our destination St Lucia is quite far south at 14°N, we decided to continue our course more towards the south.

The midday position list of the ARC fleet was downloaded. To our horror, we slipped again to the second last on the list! Although it may be due to our decision to go further south before turning west, we still must do something about it! At 17.00 we hoisted the Code 0 sail. Our speed immediately went up 2 knots. We would keep the current course until the morning, before turning west.
