Nutcracker - Log Day 2 - The Grand departure

There was a spring in the step of the crew as the day we had all been
anticipating arrived, and what a day it was - clear, sunny and calm, which
depending on who you asked was the perfect day to depart.

The dinghy cover arrived and (sort of) fit, the final checks were complete
and the skipper had unpacked, so it must be time to leave. The captains cap
was passed down a generation (never to be passed back up) and out we headed.

The croissants were fresh and the Tea was hot so the omens are looking good!
Crew morale yet further improved by the announcement that lunch was served,
the day hit it's first snag. Lunch took a trip across the saloon as the ship
rolled and the chef went with it, the pair ending up in a heap on the floor.
There was some concern as to whether we would go hungry but a a quick
inspection revealed that bar a slight dent in the soufflé, neither were
severely harmed.

After a quiet afternoon perfecting our collective tan we discovered a storm
on route! Luckily it was the impending arrival of dinner - which took a more
direct path from Kitchen to plate - and turned out to be homemade burgers
with four different garnishes, homemade chips and three different sauces.
Gordon who?

After the grand reveal of the watch system which no one fully understands
and the realisation that no we couldn't nip to Ibiza, we retired.

The Cabin Boy's Nautical Notes

Wind North East 1-2 Increasing 3 later, sea state calm increasing moderate
(as the chef will attest) later, temperature 22 degrees. There was the
chance for some motor sailing and we made speedy progress at around 7 knots,
and at around 2100 we passed the southernmost point of Majorca.

Dad Joke of The Day

A quiet day folks - entertainment provided by the fact that half the crew
were still able to Snapchat.
