Endeavour of Cork - Message from the Irish Frenchie

Last night started with Mairead's watch...and a monsoon pooring on her. This was the start of a loooong wet and windy night. Squalls are the worst king of weather you can sail in my point of view. I rather have a steady gale than squally weather. Squalls are vicious, stressful and unexpected at night. So, we all started our night watch in the total dark. I think I have nerver seen such a dark environment before. Denise said she thought about Conor's monsters stories. Well, yes, I agree! You feel like you are in another dimension and that a monster is gona bring you down in the deep ocean. Fortunately nothing of that happened but we just got veeeery drenched and flew down the waves. Sorry no horror stories!

We had a bit of sunshine today though and some great music-almost-dancing moments on deck. Also, I had to climb at the mast (again) because the lazyjack was caught in the spreader and also because I had to finish the work I started 2 days ago (that I couldn t finish because I was to exhausted by the rocking of the boat). So now all the spreaders are foamed so that the sails don't get caught and ripped off.

Apart from that we just had a great evening with a good dinner made by our skipper, followed by a game time and an awesome sunset and finished with some great moments listening to music with Laura on deck.

We hope for more wind tomorrow or we might get stuck forever in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean :-s
