Weather03/12/2019Synopsis: High pressure west of the Azores has moderate ridging extending S'ward to near 15N and SW'ward towards the Lesser Antilles, and will gradually weaken through the afternoon of the 04th, then change little through the 06th.Conclusion: With ridging filling in across grids PP, QQ, and RR, it does appear that trade winds will gradually be increasing in all three grids through arrival. The strongest of the trades will be located within Central/E'rn Grid QQ and grid PP as these two grids are closest to the SW'rn periphery of the strengthening ridge. Trades will be sustained in the mid 20s in these portions of the grids. The center of this ridge is forecast to remain near or just north of the Azores through the morning of the 15th as ridging remains strong near the Canaries but begins to weaken near the Cape Verde Islands by the late 13th into the 14th.A strong thermal trough of low pressure currently extends along W'rn Morocco, Western Sahara and as far south as Mauritania.
