Seems that the What3Words location resonates today.

It’s been an emotional day. Feeling a little of the mid-leg blues.

To quote a Finnish friend of mine, “we are getting a bit tired and emotional are we? Are we?”

The sailing is the easy part. Very easy. The challenge comes from the bits around the sailing. When things break, how to bring the to a state of unbreak, using only the resources we have onboard.

We gybed this morning. When plotting the daily sheds from ARC Mission Control, I discovered to my joy that we are within 12 miles of our good friends on Lilli Mae. We saw them last as we slipped lines Gran Canaria 1 week, 5 hours ago!

Was great to hear their skipper, a dashing chap who answers to the name Howard, live, well and in fine fettle and form. We were able to connect our respective Heads of Fish Retrieval from Ocean to compare notes. In sporting fashion, we have set the target of a combined fish caught and landed count.

At time of writing Lilli Mae has caught 8 and landed none.

Currently, enjoying the sunshine. From Wednesday/Thursday it looks like there will be a long presence of precipitation. There’s also a parking lot developing on the Great Circle route in front of St Lucia. If this really does develop, then it could boil down to the entire fleet grinding to a halt, with the same DTF (Distance to Finish) on the same patch of water.

At time of writing, Terry and Will are creating culinary deliciousness, John, Peter are putting the world to rights and Jules is driving us fast down the race track.

Louisa and Jen are sleeping and Tom, like tigger bounces awake at the sign of any excitement.

’Terry’s Tears’ is a firm favourite for rehydration. The legend that is Terry, aside from knocking out some fine bagels, peanut butter and jelly, and soaked oats with yum — also is running a strong side line in his version of the WHO’s ORS.

Kids do try this at home …

1 lt clean water
6 level teaspoons of sugar or two of honey

1 level teaspoon of salt
Generous squeeze of citrus (orange, line, lemon, grapefruit juice or ginger) [sic]

It should, ’taste like tears!’, ergo, ’Terry’s Tears’!

Peter has just dug out some lure fish thing and Tom is being helpful.

We have a radio scheduled with LM @ 1800z.

Onwards west. Distance to Waypoint St Lucia, 1720nm @278º M.

Fair breeze. God speed and Following Seas.
