Welcome to the World Cruising Club

ARC 2006 Start from Las PalmasGlobal sailing event organisers World Cruising Club (WCC) are best known for the ARC, the world’s largest annual trans-ocean sailing event. The Atlantic Rally for Cruisers, to use its official title, is the originator of the many WCC cruising rallies now taking place around the globe.

Since its inception in 1986, the ARC has become synonymous with ocean sailing, taking upwards of 200 yachts across the Atlantic each year. To date, some 4,100 yachts and 19,000 crew have participated on the 2,700 nautical mile course from Las Palmas de Gran Canaria to St.Lucia in the Caribbean. The first four ARC rallies finished in Barbados, then in 1990 the Rally relocated to the new marina at Rodney Bay, St.Lucia.

Following a management buyout in January 2006, WCC is now an independent event management company running a portfolio of cruising rallies based on the familiar concept of safety and fun, pioneered by the ARC.
