Another hard day at the office. Weather is very similar to Glasgow, other than being hot, dry and sunny - day 8 Angela’s Angels are flying.
There are plenty of other boats that will try to clip our wings but it’s heartening to see us working our way up through the fleet, even without considering handicap which favours us over many.
Had the asymmetric spinnaker up yesterday having been restricted by our pole breakage shortly after the start. With Sam’s ingenuity we now have a remodeled pole and today managed to successfully fly the symmetrical kite.
General morale is excellent. Our motivational coaches continue to provide excellent training with much advice and frequent compliments………some even justified.
Looking around the sea today, it appeared very much like the front of a giant eye, with Escapadus as the pupil of a huge, circular dark blue iris surrounded above by a light blue cornea.
Long may this continue, though a rapid sail to the finish better suits the competitive urge.
