Diageo announce Classic Malts Cruise postponed in 2010
Diageo announce Classic Malts Cruise postponed in 2010
14/10/2009

Diageo has announced that its Classic Malts Cruise will not go ahead in 2010 to avoid a clash with the Clyde Cruising Club’s 100th Anniversary Celebrations.

Nick Morgan, responsible for Diageo’s Scotch Knowledge and Heritage activities commented in the announcement: “It does not make sense for us to be holding the Classic Malts Cruise at the same time as the Centenary Cruise, which is why we have decided to postpone the Classic Malts Cruise until 2011. We know this will come as a disappointment to some. However, we hope that those who were planning to join our cruise will be able to take part in the Classic Malts Cruise another year.”

World Cruising Club organise the Classic Malts Cruise on behalf of Diageo, the event’s owner.

OBAN

Oban distillery, founded in 1794, is at the heart of Oban - the "Gateway to the Isles". Fine single malt whisky has been made here for over 200 years in one of the oldest licensed distilleries, its stills among the smallest in Scotland.

TALISKER

Talisker is the home to a powerful malt of rare distinction. Here, lodged far from any neighbour in the small coast community of Carbost at the head of Loch Harport, is one of the finest yet most remote distilleries of all.

LAGAVULIN

Lagavulin is the definitive Islay malt, from the ancestral home of the Lords of the Isles who long ago ruled much of what became Scotland
