Heart of Gold is a Southerly 42RST with a Southerly Blue (French Blue) hull. The sail inventory includes a main sail, a self-tacking jib, a genoa, a gennaker with a continuous line furler, and an asymmetric spinnaker. In addition to her owner Carl Arentzen, she will be sailed by Joe Londrigan, Jon Shope, Jeff Cozzens, Jeff Evans, and Bill Stevens. The team is from the midwest of the USA with most of the team having sailed together in the annual Chicago to Mackinac Race. This will be the first Atlantic Crossing for each member of the team.
