Blue Pearl - Blue Pearl log 7

Another day has soon flown by and its time to write another log.

Having time away from technology and social media was a conscious decision we made when planning this crossing, of course access to the internet is nice and allows us to send and receive emails and weather but none of us wanted daily access for browsing or social media. Part of the enjoyment is not having access to social media. We can just enjoy our surroundings without being sucked into our phones.

Although we spent the night amongst a cluster of boats all on a similar course to us, the only boat we could see was the catamaran Aquila, who we have become friends with during the rally. We spoke over the radio this morning joking that it was a bit early in the morning to be racing! We managed to take some photos of them on the way past but taking photos of a moving boat from a moving boat is a lot easier said than done and I ended up taking quite a lot with just half a boat or just water! Before leaving Mindelo we stocked up on some local bread in the freezer for the first stage of the passage, it makes a difference to lunch when some fresh or freshly defrosted bread is available and when we run out we have a bread machine on board so can continue to have fresh bread.
