SHORT RANGE SYNOPSIS VALID 02/09/1200 GMT to 02/11/1200 GMT - The waters from Panama to Ecuador have generally experienced light to occasionally moderate winds the past few days. Expect similar winds the next 24 hrs then speeds likely increase across all waters except those near the ITCZ. In the Gulf of Panama to 05N, the Colombian low pressure center (1006mb) causes 10-15 kts increasing to 15-20 kts in 24-36 hrs as high pressure builds into Mexico & the Caribbean. The ITCZ is further north,
extending from 04N/77W to 07N/90W, & associated with winds of variable direction & under 10 kts between 03N-05N. A 05-10 kt SW/SSW wind fills from 01N-03N then increasing to 08-13 kts from SSW/SSE 01N-04S. Upper level through along 88W from 05N-10N helping to cause increased threat of shwrs/tsms next 48 hrs in all areas but especially near the ITCZ.
