Skyelark of London - 1000 miles down
Day 7 - Today marks 1,000 miles under our keel since
leaving Las Palmas! The stars at
night are countless. Early on, we
had a particularly dark night due to the new moon and were able to see the
bluegreen bioluminescence of dolphins swimming alongside the boat in the middle
of the night. Last night we had a
small meteor shower as we kept track of another vessel just a mile or two off
our starboard side.
The crew is settling into a nice routine. Yesterday was deck shower day and today
laundry day. Sail changes are
becoming more efficient. We are
enjoying some great music on the bluetooth speaker and have become accustomed to
an afternoon team effort on NYT crossword puzzles. Good teamwork all around! Today we are blessed with good winds and
are reaching our way west at good speed.
We caught a small dorado this morning, but decided to let it go in hopes
of catching a tuna. Keeping our
fingers crossed!
