Turbo's Tub - Sunday November 11th

Not too much to report today.  We flew a reefed main and jib all night and made really good time.  Wind was blowing 15-20 knots and we were moving 5-6 knots course over ground.  Today the seas got much more rough.  Chop and size.  We haven't been able to head exactly like we have wanted, and it's tough to keep up speed in the chop/waves.  Still making pretty good time.  About 5 knots course over ground and that's with a double reefed main on a preventor.  Wind has been 20-30.  It's supposed to continue like this through the night and then calm in the morning.

At our current pace we now think that we will see the Abacos on Tuesday morning.  However the conditions create a rage in the entrances next to Green Turtle Cay, so it is looking like we will have to do a west end approach, which will have to be done in daylight and then it will take us a day to go down the back side of the islands.  Obviously things can change.  We are staying in touch with the weather reporter, so we'll keep you posted as we get updates on conditions.

We got a 10-15 pound Mahi right up to the stern of the boat and then we lost it in the gaffing process.  We could taste fresh mahi for dinner...

We had a seasick free day, which was a welcomed relief.

As of the latest update, the Tub is 200 miles from Green Turtle Cay and heading South West at 5.6 knots.
