We shopped and shopped, the Cost U Less and (again) Ace Hardware (which had much more than just hardware - I bought a few cute sheet sets there...) and then we cleared out of American Samoa yesterday morning and left in the afternoon - of course there was one more shower as we were pulling up the anchor. It was never sunny enough for anything to dry while we were there so a few days ago I took all the laundry to the laundromat - 5 loads with sheets, mattress pad etc. It was well worth it to have everything washed and dried in less than 2 hours.
We sailed and motored a bit overnight, have sailed all day today, and are thoroughly enjoying the sunshine!
We now have around 220 miles to go to Tonga. We've been diligently working on school work and reading.....
The chartplotter has stopped working - not sure what's going on there. We have a handheld GPS as backup but hopefully we can figure out the chartplotter and fix it - only possible if it's something simple like a loose connection. It's only 7 or so months old.
