Finally
This morning started on a sad note. One of the boats, Outer Limits, was
hit by a whale and started to sink. The crew was promptly rescued by a cargo
and taken safely on board. We knew very well one of the component of the crew,
Marta, a nice Italian lady with plenty of sailing experience. Our sincere
sympathy to the crew.
The day went by with the usual routine. Pino did his first cooking
preparing an excellent grey snapper that he had caught in the marina in
Bermuda. Delicious! After lunch.. finally! A tuna hit one
of the lures and was boarded after a
short fight. Not the kind of monster we hooked yesterday, but a much more
modest 4/5 Kg little tunny. Good enough to provide some excitement and a few
excellent steaks and perhaps a sushi.
In the mean time we are bracing for the perturbation that will hit us
tomorrow night. Probably another sleepless night with winds in the 20 to 30 kn
range. Fingers are already crossed.

Terzo giorno di navigazionne, velocità
dai 7/8 nodi quasi costanti con vento reale 14 ai 16 nodi, direzione 90 gradi circa che si
trasforma in 55° per effetto della velocità. Perciò bolina larga con
sbandamento di circa 20/25 gradi. Il tempo è bello, cielo sereno.
La navigazione procede bene senza problemi la barca la sentiamo molto
sicura e stabile sull' onda che ogni tanto diventa più alta. I componenti dell'
allegra compagnia sono ben affiatati e si respira un buon clima in
barca, l'unica nota negativa è che abbiamo agganciato quattro tonni di misura
notevole ma per vari motivi non siamo
riusciti a catturarli.
Peccato per noi ma bene per loro.......
Il nostro comandante Roberto ha detto una parola che cominciava per
c.... ma non l'ho capita bene. In serata abbiamo sentito altre barche che hanno
avuto gli stessi incontri, ma anche loro hanno perso la preda. Probabilmente
erano troppo grossi e.......furbi.
Per oggi non c'è più niente da segnalare si avvicina l'ora di cena e
devo avvicinarmi ai fornelli. A domani
barca, e tempo permettendo.
