Mojomo - Tuesday 6th December - last full day

15:17N Yet more nightmares amongst the crew. Last night both Dee and I had the very same dream, where we were sailing across the Atlantic in Mojomo in the middle of the night, loads of squalls all over the place, and every so often Nick would arrive on deck, prattle on nicely with lots of chatty yet interesting banaltities, offer good and advice about sailing, interspersed with some quite bad advice about sailing, and then disappear back to his cabin. Turns out it wasn’t a nightmare at all. Seriously though, I sort of knew we’d have a good laugh with Nick on board. Some readers will know him as "webcraft" Dee says he’s very sweet. But is there any praise fainter for a bloke than to be called “sweet”?

We’ve spent the morning beetling around the Atlantic and bothering other boats. After several distant targets disappeared astern we found EIRA, Swan 51ish from Helsinki, scorched up to him at 9 knots and then freaked him by cutting across his bows. We’s searched all our Ipods but we don’t have an ABBA music which would have been quite nicely Scandinavia for them. I spect Scandinavian pirates play ABBA, probably um Waterloo, a very frightening piece I would think. They tried to raise us on ch16 as we tacked and then wehammed at their starboard bow, but I just screamed AAARGH! down the vhf at them. So they came to a dead stop. Very good racing tactic I learnt at the Hooligan School of Yachting. It was okay tho, and we took pix of each other. They spent quite a while asking yerknow, if we take some pictures of your boat, perhaps you can take some pics of ours? and swap them in St Lucia? Goodness me, we’d never have thought of that. They’re in the racing class, not doing praps as well as they should. Especially after our visit. Next up is a catamaran Elektra, but he’s now miles away down on our port side.

Olly had coca-cola mash last night, by accident. David’s gouty leg is a bit better. Nick wants to be the first person to say “Land Ho!” and win a Lavish Prize from the skipper – in this case probably even more ridicule. Hot sunny day, Dee is making lunch whilst wearing an apron steps out into the cockpit and the crew go a bit quiet, David sez er, just a minute Dee, um, turn around willyer… oh! (she’s got a bikini on as well, thank gawd) er, no, it’s fine! sorry Dee! Another awkward sailing moment averted. Seems that after the last two weeks on Mojomo they praps feel that just *anything* might happen...

A small seabird foolishly chose to alight on Mojomo and even flew into the saloon, fluttered about a bit and then out to sea again, twice, as though casing the joint to make a nest. He’s chosen the wrong boat - Olly has been nominated as Opening Bat should it return. Later I threw some batteries out into the sea and this time Olly did a double take, thinking it was a seabird corpse.

Bit dull and flat this afternoon but nice and sunny. Possibly time for MOB practise. Hur hur.
