Butterfly - Monday Day 15

Mark: Sunday was one of those days where the wind blew old boots, the rain was truly tropical and horizontal and any sunshine was missing from the sky, could have been in the Solent! Somehow Rob managed to cook roast lamb with Roast spuds, amazing!! but then it was Sunday. Crib with Mike was suspended due to the risk of getting the cards wet. Kenny, Simon and Lee have been taking lessons in how to start a Yanmar engine and all passed the test at last! Hope to be in St. Lucia soon. Love to all Mark

Mike: 200 miles to go, the wind has dropped and the sun is back out, this is more like what we expected from the Caribbean. The whole trip has been made with little assistance from the engine, now with hardly any wind we have been using the engine, only problem, that is was not working, but after a good few hours engine maintenance and a changed filter or two it now is.

Catherine, I am not sure which day you have the big sing at Glyndebourne? But I hope you have a good time and am sorry to miss it. Oliver I hope that football has been going ok and you have managed to train at Lewes, hope that your fish tank is not as green as the Caribbean! William, hope that your school work has gone well for you, thanks for looking after the animals. Hopefully it has been snowing in Lech, don’t forget to have a look.

So we should get onto land at St Lucia tomorrow, can’t wait to go for a walk and cease feeling the  sensation of bobbing along!!

I will try to bring me flight home forward, as I am missing you all and am looking to being home with you in the build up to Christmas. Love Dad Kenny Win and Rob say hello.

PS we are all looking a bit like dirty pirates, but I am not sure which one of us looks like Johnny Depp!!

Hi All

200 miles to go , further than a weekends trip out of the solent but so so close to the end of a fantastic voyage. The company has been superb, not a conflict or crossword in 16 days, we have all respected the skills of each individual and there contribution to making this trip so memorable.

Must go and have my 1st shower , Mickey needs a haircut, Mark is looking for some sheep to sherear, Rob wants to find waitrose to see if there is an ingredient he has not used whilst in the Galley, Simon is as clean and impeccable as the day he left and Lee is still looking for some pirates that he can tantalise !!

I must say we are all thinking of you Phil and we raise a glass to you most nights , look forward to sharing this adventure with you in the future.

The provisions have lasted well Gadders, would not have got this far without the massive support you gave from the start.

KJ xxxx

Simon: Hi everyone, hope all ok at home.. Well we are almost there, under 192 miles to go now..(They take ages to type on this computer!) Fixed engine this morning after it not running properly for the last few days – fuel filter completely blocked…think we may go back to the Canaries and take it up with the fuel dock ;)  Fishing again today…still have about half a freezers worth of meat still! Found more wine bottles in the wine ‘cellar’ (aka bilges!) so they are going in the fridge…!

Roasting today, not much wind and squalls have gone leaving clear skies all around…

Joke of the day…… Why does the golfer take two pairs of trousers...?   In case he goes a hole in one....!!         hahahaha! Very good miss ;)

This time tomorrow (hopefully – not tempting fate) it will be land ahoy me hearties!!

Looking forward so much to seeing you soon Sam here in the sunshine and everyone at home just before Christmas. Bye for now xxx
