Butterfly - 510 miles to go... ;)

Rob: HAPPY BIRTHDAY JAY!!!! 12 YEARS OLD TODAY – I hope you are having a fantastic day with your friends – I’ve been thinking of you more than ever today and I’m so sorry I can’t be with you. I am eating four of the maltesers you gave me to celebrate with you in spirit. Big winds, big rollers and warm rain showers out in the Atlantic Ocean with only 520nm left to go thank goodness. I can’t wait to show you the exciting video of us catching a 3 foot long dorado earlier so I’ll be having sushi while you are at Yo Sushi having your birthday meal. Cool JLoads of love to you, Trent and Mummy. Really missing you all, Love Daddy xxxx

Simon: Hi everyone, hope all going well at home and Sam…hope the Christmas party was good fun – my evening last night was spent fighting the wheel for hours with big squalls with large seas in 35knots of wind and torrential rain – good job the rain is warm! However I think a Christmas party has a slight edge over bad weather at sea?! When I looked at the brochure for the Caribbean, there were blue skies and sunshine, so we are obviously still in the wrong place!? Missing you all. Love Simon xxx 88

Mark; Busy day today, we had to inspect steering gear, which meant emptying out a Lazarette of Oil cans, all at a rolly state of play. Kenny in locker readjusting screws and at the same time we catch a large fish! Followed swiftly by a true tropical storm, so we took the shower gel out and all showered in the cockpit in a howling gale, don’t do that every day. We are now zooming along with a reef in both sails. Missing you all and all my love, Daddy.

Joke of the Day; I drove into the back of a car today, a dwarf got out and said “ I am not Happy”, so I said “ which one are you then?”

Not quite the Blue skies and clear waters that I imagine you all think we are sailing in, last couple of days heavy squalls and torrential rain, not a problem for a well organised team that we now are!! Could do with a little sunshine, hopefully it will not be long.

Love you all KJ xxx

Mike: Heavy seas for the last few nights, been surfing on 16ft waves! Lack of Sleep is the biggest problem, difficult to get more than an hours sleep at a time.

We had our best shower in two weeks at lunchtime, quite funny watching us all shampoo ourselves, then face the pouring rain to wash and rinse ourselves, out on deck!!!

The African side of the Atlantic was better weather all round than that we are experiencing  approaching the Caribbean, still we have been making good time and at this rate, should be in by Tuesday, Yippy!!

Going to fillet the nice big Dorado now for dinner. Love  xx
