Butterfly - Day 8

Hi All

Everything going great.

Mickey laying on foredeck listening to Desert Island discs,Lee at helm, Rob playing marvels with the Dorado we have just caught, seems like sushi is on the menu for tonight. Mark just cleaning up after an excellent job of filleting the fish and amongst all of this Simon trying to win a sailing race!!

As you can all see we are doing relatively well with our position so far , but like a marathon the second part of the race will surely sort the men from the boys, let’s hope we can keep it up, there was all of you lot at home thinking we were having fun.

The nights are the most exciting with Kenny ensuring each watch is keeping the speed up, by keeping us a us awake with his ‘rock and roll’. I am not sure how large the bet is on beating other boats in the rally!!!

Every night the sky is wonderful and  we see shooting stars a plenty. We can normally see the light of at least one other boat which and yesterday a Swan 46 ‘Cochise’ came within a mile of us, on the other tack, very exciting.

We hear the weather at home has not been that wonderful.  For Butterfly it is about 30C and the sun is shining, with a steady breeze of about 18 knots up the chuff!

We are still eating like Kings, Michelin one star for sure, courtesy of Rob, but the fresh food is running low with Onions on their last legs. Let’s hope we can catch some more fish to supplement.
