Voyageur - Log day 230 - Blog gone - nearly!

25 January 2011

Another very slow day today. We are reluctant to use the engine until at least we arrive at the half the sail configuration from poled out genoa to running wing on wing. This allowed us to recover some of the lost ground and get back to our rhumb line. We had drifted over 8nm to the south of it during the night. This morning we saw two World ARC off to starboard, our first sail sighting in four days. It is Ariane and Tzigane.

The chart laptop computer screen has given up the ghost. Without it we have no electronic navigation, although we always have the required paper charts, we are unable to receive and send emails but worst of all the blog would not get posted. This is quite unacceptable for me. Consequently David rigged a 'Heath Robinson' affair, using the slave screen which normally lives in the cockpit. So now we type on one machine meanwhile looking at the other. The blog continues to live on....
