Crazy Horse - Jan. 17

Our position at 1330 is 27 31S, 6 25E

Wind is SE and 13kts. We have our jib and main out in wing and wing position. Our speed is approx 6kts. The seas are pretty calm and we are just rolling along in a comfortable movement. We are between the Molloy and Valdivia Bank in the Atlantic.

Tried out the new Wonder Washer today. Bill helped and now he is exhausted and taking a nap. It is a little more work than our machines at home. Of course it doesn't help that one must still wring out the clothes and squat on the floor of the head to accomplish the task. We will all have much more appreciation to washing a load of clothes now. They are drying on the lifelines now and getting that sea breeze scent that one must buy in the supermarket back home.

We have all drifted into our routines of reading, listening to music, cooking, washing up the dishes, maintenance, repair, and napping. Our watches are working well as we all seem to like our schedules. I have still got this cough I can't seem to get rid of. Started taking some penicillin and zyrtec to see if that would knock it out. I can't get too much sympathy from this crew here and they expect me to take it like a sailor. So here I am whining to the blog. It does seem better with the warmer weather we are now getting the further north we travel.

We didn't hear from Chessie today but last night Bill was able to reach them via SSB. They are fine and enjoying the warmer weather too. OJ is contacting us daily on email but no sign of them on radar yet. They seem to be enjoying the sail and are busy catching fish and cooking desserts of all things! Every time I think of putting the fishing line overboard then remember I am the one who has to do the work to clean it and clean up afterward and then I say, No Thanks!

Guess I'll get a nap in before my 1600 watch.

Rosemary, Bill and Matt
