Crazy Horse - Nov. 3

This is our third day out from Reunion and we are 285 miles from our waypoint off of the coast of Madagascar. We have heard there are some strange currents pushing against the fleet in some cases. We have been warned to stay a good bit off the southern tip of Madagascar to avoid those currents. Therefore, we have plotted our course 80 miles off the coast. Hope that is far enough off. Then we have heard about a positive current that is pushing others in the southwesterly direction.Think we had some of that last night because the wind was surely not that strong. We motorsailing now trying to make good time toward our destination.

The clock is ticking and we are feeling the pressure to make our flight on the 16th of Nov. at Capetown. We might be right down to the wire. We won't take any chances however, if the weather doesn't look good for a safe journey around to Cape. We just have to find an alternative location to keep the boat. We are already set with the ARC to stay at Hout Baai if the weather and time works in our favor. Seems like there are quite a few of us that have a time schedule to keep. This is probably the wrong time to have to keep to one. But one must make plans too. So we are caught between a rock and a hard place so to speak.

Other than all that things are going well on Crazy Horse. We still have lots of food to finish before going home. Maggie and Bob might be the beneficiaries of some of it. We are eating well and Matt made a good pork casserole last night. Bob threw us some fish off the side of Ocean J that he caught the first day out. We are doing pretty good at passing between boats. Perhaps the Redskins need us. This could be another good Olympic game for the future.
