It was very grey when I got up this morning but the sun is slowly burning through the cloud.

It's been an eventful 24hours, starting with doing 56miles in the first 6 hours. Before sunset we took down the asymmetric spinnaker and put the symmetric back up. Jarmo then beat his top speed and reached 16knots. At 3am it was all hands on deck as we'd had a huge broach followed by a gybe which broke the preventer, so the spinnaker came
down (eventually after putting up quite a fight and leaving Bo and Sakka with rope burns) and we pulled the genoa out for the rest of the night. During this 'challenge' there was a very strong smell of fish and Pekka found our first flying fish in the cockpit. The rope burns turned out to be not very bad, Just a bit of skin was lost off a few fingers but nothing serious and we've all had a little chuckle about it this morning. Our second flying fish also found Pekka and hit him in the shoulder, the third was found on the deck this morning, looks like we'll be seeing lots more flying fish action until the
moon gets bigger.

When I got up around 8am Matt and the guys were putting the spinnaker back up and gybing, we've been tearing along ever since. Bo was first hitting 13.4knots, Soon after Pekka became joint Top Gun with 16knots and then Jarmo came back on watch and regained his Top Gun Title with 16.3knots. Awesome sailing.

The dolphins are loving our fast speed and we've seen loads, we've even got some good photos and a video of them.

I also baked bread this morning so it's been very busy on Disco and I think they'll be lots of afternoon napping today. The cape Verde islands are under 100 miles to our south an on this gybe it really feels like were heading to StLucia.

Over to the Fins:

Eilen illalla vaihdettiin genaakkeri spinnuun, jolla ajettiin aamukolmeen n. 20 solmun tuulessa.

That's all from us on the Disco for today. Stay classy and thanks for stopping by

Lizzie
