Magic Pelagic - Crew Blog Stardate 26th Nov Day 4

What a difference a day makes!
Soon after our last entry when we were lamenting our poor start, things have started to look up (touch wood). We were visited by a pod of lucky dolpins and since then our luck has changed. Our spinnaker has been up now for over 35 hours without incident (touch wood again). This has enabled us to make good progress at the angle we want.
You know, sometimes when one is sailing you really have to question one's sanity. When it is cold and wet and you are beating into the eye of a storm with big seas it is not a pleasant experience; a challenging one and ultimately rewarding yes but enjoyable definitely not. The last 24 hours have just been brilliant. During the day we have had clear blue skies, a moderate sea and good winds. Crew morale is good and all is well. And then last night, well a clear night with no moon meant it was very dark indeed. This just highlighted the magnificence of the night sky. An infinite array of bright jewels with some of our old friends like Orion to guide us on our way. The brilliance of the stars was only matched by the sparkling phosphoresence created by our perfect wake. The odd shooting star in its inexorable trajectory of death lighting up the heavens. Literally our only tinge of regret is that we will never be able to find words to convey the magnificence of our experience and that our loved ones are not with us to share it.
Our cunning plan (we told you about yesterday) is still coming to fruition and should propel us up the leader board in a few days time (touch wood again again).
More news tomorrow.
Any advice on tactic please share it with us on [email protected]
Love to you all. Mark and Tony C
