Second Wind - Day 3 - More Sun and low winds

Winds have dropped off but the parasail is holding shape really well. We have changed course to be more on a direct course to Cape Verde based on the weather reports of where there is wind.

Doing daily checks on yacht which is working well to find lots of little things that could add up, Mike our new crew member is doing a great job re-taping and checking rigging and sheet wear.

We have seen a pod of dolphins today (about 20) which followed us for 30 mins, two of them did enormous leaps into the air about 20 boat lengths from us. The jumps were gigantic and quite a shock – we do not want one them landing on the deck.

Food is going down well – pan fried chicken with garlic, sauté potatoes and ratatouille. Everyone is helping out preparing, cooking and clearing up. But for all of you at home it is very pleasant sitting on deck with a low light, plates of great food, a glass of wine and chatting.

Unfortunately this means we are only doing an average of 5 knots and less at times, based on weather predictions there are not very strong trade winds and no wind in the mid atlantic so we are continuing south to pick up the trade winds across.

I will try and update every day but the sun cream on my fingers is making it hard to type!

Love to all

From Martin Meikle-Small on SECOND WIND ARC number 134
