Yesterday afternoon the wind slowly started to drop and swing round to the south. Just before dinner we took down the spinnaker, rolled out the jibtop and found ourselves 80 degrees off the wind. Our speed was still around 7knots until midnight and then the wind dropped to 4knots, the guys on from midnight until 4am said it was very frustrating trying to keep the boat moving and in the right direction. We were passed by 2 yachts under motor.
At 4.30am Matt got up and they hoisted the Asymmetric spinnaker as the breeze had started to shift back to the NE. Over the next few hours Slowly the wind increased and our boat speed improved. After dawn the breeze properly kicked in up to 14 knots which sees us sailing on course and up to Speed!
It's a sunny day out here with a few clouds around so not too hot just yet. We have 4 yachts just on the horizon, one in front, 2 to our left and 1 to our right. The aim of the day is to catch the one ahead.
Everyone is Settling into the rythm well and is quite happy, those that aren't on watch this morning are lounging around the deck reading their books or sleeping.

Terveiset suomeksi! Purjehdus on toistaiseksi sujunut erittain leppoisissa merkeissa, tuulta on ollut odotettua vahemman. Lahto oli yhta kaaostakun 200 venetta yritti saada hyvan lahdon. Meilla lahto sujui hyvin, lahdettiin karkijoukoissa. Tuulta oli lahdon jalkeen ihan hyvin, parhaimmillaan 25 kts. Vaquhtipohjat ajettiin ekana paivana, 13,7 kts, mutta toivottavasti pian ollaan ihan eri lukemissa. Nukkumisen kanssa viela harjoitellaan, mutta eikohan sekin ala sujumaan viiimeistaan seuraavalla viikolla. Voi ei sula viela kunnolla, siksi ajellaan toistaiseksi kohti etelaa J Toivottavasti taktiikka puree.
Vieraaseen veneeseen totutteleminen on ottanut oman aikansa, mutta nyt alkaa venevauhtikin pysya suunnilleen kohdallaan. Olemme jonkin verran sisarvenetta (Sunbird) edella, mika tilanne on tarkoitus sailyttaa loppuun saakka. Viime yo oli tyyni, tuulta huonoimmillaan alle 4 kts. Ajettiin sitkeasti silti purjein, vaikka pari venetta meni ohi moottoreiden. Delfiinit pitivat seuraa yolla, uiden ja hyppien perapeilin takana.
