I expect you are wondering how we are getting on . Well we are doing OK so sar. We has a superb send off from Gran Canaria. Hundreds of people came to send us off. There were bands, fireworks and flags. The weather was perfect and it made a great spectacle as over 200 yachts left the marina like wasps from a nest. The winds were light at the start and have been behind us so far. Towards the south of the island they picked up and blew 28k for a while. During the
night we could see yachts lights all around us, but we now only have sight of about 12 We have just taken our noon position and will submit it with this report. At present we are averaging 6 knots and heading 218 degrees, with full main and the genny poled out (goose winged). The temperature is about 26 degrees and the weather is beautiful and sunny -
so far so good.
