Sunbeat VI - Day 12

Another day dawned with yet more spinnaker launches and gybes. This Arc must set new records for sail changes!

We experienced our first serious tropical squall late afternoon - which tested the team’s rapid spinnaker drop technique to the full. Unfortunately the squall was immediately followed by almost zero wind and with the forecast set for a huge area of low winds ahead, the team is trying everything possible to keep the speed up and maximise sail area. Indeed we even deployed the sun awning for the cockpit for the first time so as to 1) keep the sun off the partially baked crew 2) provide a shelter for the rest of us to laugh at Drac during the ensuing downpour.

Bored of fishing….only caught seaweed. Team not amused.

Waiting for the next weather forecast with baited breath. More news soon…..
