Another setting of the sun for us the dawn of a new day for some.

Last night’s Happy Hour was a great freeing of emotional energy. For me, it feels a great deal lighter.

This evening had a differently positive resonating frequency as we sat together for dinner.

I’m quite enjoying having the evening’s a little lighter. Happy Hour as the sun sets … realistically, we are going to need to shift the clocks at some point. Eating lunch before sunrise can be a bit of an odd one. Local time does not really matter out here, other than for needing to know local noon for celestial navigation.

Keeping hydrated is a bit of a challenge. Terry’s Tears (improved from the WHO ORS recipe) will meet new challenges as our citrus levels are running low. Suspect that we are pretty close to suffering Heat Exhaustion — prevention better than the cure. Plenty of rehydration fluid is key.

Cracked into our third and final gas bottle — will be a close thing to the line (averaging 1 gas bottle per 1,000 miles or/and 5 days). We have a little under 1,100 to go, with 36 hours of wind hole imminent, we may be microwaving the coffee percolator. Houston, we are about to have a problem

Great to have an actual sailing problem to contend with, light airs. It’s been such a battle to keep the boat together, the crew have been awesome. It’s a full time focus this sailing boats on oceans.

Sat comms continue to be intermittent.

Wind instruments seem to have packed up for good following a particularly large rolling wave within the swell set.

Generator is working a dream.

Fresh Water Pump (allowing us to get water out of the water tanks) has been jury rigged with a sub-optimal solution, one that should get us over the line. Great work by Tom.

Peter has taken on the role of bread maker; though Jules is muscling in with a Norwegian themed bread bake. Louisa is hydrating and being cool on deck. Tom is eating his way through a months worth of desert. Peter is on the helm. Will is sleeping well (his seamanship is super), John is sleeping and out cold, as is Terry. Jen trying her hand on the wheel in short stints.

Still a long way to go and the water is bloody deep.

Flying fish continue to throw themselves on the deck, creating a lovely aroma. One crew member in particular bringing super sound effects when she is hit by them. We all get to learn swear words in Norwegian!

At time of writing SY Ellinora is off our starboard beam at a range of 18.5nm. Will give them a shout on VHF shortly and wish them a happy evening.

Fair breeze, god speed and following seas.
