Reidun and Finn Fagervik from Oslo in Norway, bought their Bavaria 42 Cruiser in 2004 with the ambition of retiring early and doing some long distance cruising. They selected their Bavaria 42 both for practical and sensible reasons; it had to have full standing headroom, Finn is 1.87m tall, and it had to have a price which allowed him to equip the boat with whatever they wanted. The yacht Hilde was chosen as a test-bed for a yacht equipment ‘make-over’ by deck gear manufacturer Rutgerson.
