World ARC 2023-24 Depart Namibia

Having enjoyed their time in Namibia the World ARC 2023-24 fleet are now at sea with course set for St. Helena. Whilst in Walvis Bay many of the fleet were able to visit some of the best that the country had to offer with many of the sailors taking aerial safaris; overnight trips to Sossusvlei; or staying local and visiting the mighty Dune 7. Also nearby was Swakopmund and the flamingos hanging out at the Salt flats in Walvis Bay – the area was very different to our previous stop in urban Cape Town! The weather treated us very kindly throughout our stay and as the boats continue to dig deeper into the South Atlantic good sailing conditions have also been reported.

Having covered lots of good ground already, the first boats are expected to arrive in Jamestown, St. Helena on 21st January. Once settled they are due to continue their voyage on to South America in time for Carnival at Salvador de Bahia, Brazil!
