Purrr-fect - Day 4 Log (Tue) -

Dave here writing this update. Paul (Linda's brother) has been our blogmaster to date. At noon here we have made 381 miles (or about 127/day). We are motoring somewhat slowly to conserve fuel. Although we added 3 extra tanks, we have been motoring most of the time. Beautiful smooth indigo blue water, beautiful sunrise and sunsets but almost no wind. Full moon at night with plenty of light.

It was so slow and calm we stopped the boat last evening and went for a swim (photo hopefully attached). we could not believe that the middle of the Atlantic (North American Basin) could be so placid. Linda made a fantastic dinner of ginger chicken, risotto and carrots. We even opened a nice bottle of Reisling. Linda topped it off with a key lime pie and some chocolate chip type oatmeal cookies.

It is great having Jim and Paul as they are helping greatly and make supper guests/crew. AS I write, Jim and Linda are starting to bake the first bread. Paul and I are preparing to transfer diesel from the added tanks to the main tanks.

We finally seem to have good Sailmail access as long as we are careful choosing the correct frequency as the
SSB radio sometimes crashes the computer. Water maker is working and although we have plenty of water aboard we make our drinking water when in clean salt water. The radar is also working so most of the critical systems are acceptable if not Purrrfect.

We are fishing/trolling but no luck yet.

love to get a short message from you on how you are doing on the mainland.

Dave
