This is the second time today that I am writing this blog. The last time all my writing got lost in cyberspace as the minute I finished the computer lost its power. That is one thing on this boat-one must put the inverter on if the generator is not on. Well, we all forgot and the battery power on the computer was used up. Only my blog for today was lost so I guess that's not so bad. We are all adjusting to the movement again of being on a boat. Seems my body in particular lost this ability as I am having some problems with queasiness, headache and sleepiness. Think it is getting better but I am not used to this feeling. WE are all still eating but the strength I had in my legs to get up and down that companionway is gone. Back to rebuilding those muscles again.
We have been having winds from the SW from 18-25 kts today. The short choppy waves from all over are lessening the further we get out into the ocean. Yesterday was downright cold but today it feels warmer.
We have been calling on the SSB for Chessie and Ocean Jasper but have heard no reply. Chessie may be too far ahead since they left a day earlier than us and OceanJ. We did hear from OJ through email that their transmitter is not working. They can hear us but we can't hear them. They are off our radar screen but we know they are out here and okay somewhere. We have seen only a couple of ships but no small sailboats yet. We don't seem to have the chip for the GPS computer so we are back to using paper charts until somewhere closer to Brazil. That just makes me a little uneasy not being able to see it all on the electronic charts. There are some seamounts out here we must be on the lookout for.
So other than that all is well and Crazy H and crew are back to sea. Oh, we are having chicken nuggets, couscous and broccoli tonight for dinner. Keeping it simple until we are all adjusted to the movement until the gourmet meals. Of course, Capt. Ironsides can eat anything as usual. Where is the sausage and gravy? Yuck!
That's all for today. I must get back to my watch. Can't use the queasy excuse for long. This is a tough group!
