Skyelark 2 - 1/4

Day 6
We woke up to news that Nigel and Ady had seen the depth reading drop to 1m
and looking astern saw the backs of whales illuminated by the moonlight in
our wake. Despite there being nothing visible bar the Ocean, these and the
fridge and deserted boat that others in the fleet have reported have
reminded us all of the importance of keeping watch.
Mother duty has come round again. Although I’m teaming up with gourmet Eric,
this will be more comfort food than haute cuisine. Chill con Carne and
garlic bread, using the left over loaf courtesy of Peter’s on board baking
skills.
Just as we were serving up, a pod of beautiful spotted dolphins swam
alongside and leaping clear of the water time and again. Magical as ever and
it can only make the chilli taste better.
Now finally heading West and making great progress towards St Lucia.
Celebrating crossing the ¼ way point in the route we have chosen to sail and
soon they’ll only be 2000 nautical miles to go.
I’ve got to go. There’s some commotion on deck. . There’s a cry of “Got a
fish”, immediately followed by “We’ve got two...”
