Morgane of Sark - log Morgane of Sark

Hi there, here an evening message from the Morgane of Sark at 19:30, november 12 th. Just to let you know that our caught mini Tunafish tasted really good. We had a piece of sole with it, from the freezer😉. And again all kinds of veggies in the crockpot. And ravioli with it. Diner has become a highlight of the day. As are Merel’s delicious smoothies around midday.

The sun has gone down, but unfortunately there were just some clouds covering this spectacle. The sunsets and sunrises at sea are magical. As is the starry night.

We almost caught something again… a seagull. The seagull was chasing the bate. So, we took the fishing gear down again. Don’t want to catch a seagull!

The flying fish around us are so much fun to watch. Sometimes they fly on the deck however. During the day, we do rescue them and trow them back. But, at night we don’t like to go out of the cockpit. So, we did find some dead ones on the deck at dusk some days. Tuesday we had this big group of dolfins joining us. We hoped to see them today again. But, no other encounters with the sealife..

We are getting closer to Mindelo. We hope to arrive tomorrow evening. Wind is decreasing, so we probably won’t make it before dark. We rather arrive in daylight.

We cut out the courtesy flag of Cape Verde today, as well as those from Grenada, St. Vincent and St. Lucia. We have a huge cloth with all the flags of countries at the Atlantic Ocean. Tomorrow we have to sow it, so we can hoist it when we are near.

Today there was a little more swell or just some more waves, as the boat was hubbling more than yesterday. But, life is still comfortable at the Morgane of Sark in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean.

Our current position is N 18 12.56 W 23 23.52. SOG currently 5-5,5 knots with a windspeed of 6,5-11 knots. Still butterflying the sailed, joined by our cutter jib. We have sailed 740 miles since Cape Verde.

Have a good night!
