Nora Simrad - Day 1

After lots of filling in forms, transport from USVI to BVI, maintainance and work on the boat to get it seaworthy is it nice to be out in open water.

We had a nice start, however several boats startet the engine right after starting line and went along. We are not very fast under power, so we try to avoid it if not neccessary. We have used the engine 42 minutes so far.

We have a cloudy sky and the wind is varying from 11 to 16 kts and from 15 to 45 degrees. This is an akward wind, since the prevailing wind is from south. We are skidding west of rumbline.

Just now we can only see one boat, and we have not a clue about where everybody are and how much engine they have used, nor how our standing in the race is. We have max 7 days to the finishline, and we are just keeping the pace so far.

Everything is well onboard and we have enough of everything so far.

Reg. Nora
