Crazy Horse - Jan 22

I hate to sound boring but it has been another wonderful night of sailing. Yesterday we made 202miles by my calculations. That is wonderful! This morning we are still sailing along beautifully doing from 6-10 kts in 15-23kts of breeze. We still have our wing and wing sail formation and it feels like Crazy Horse is really flying.

We haven't seen so much ocean life such as seals, dolphins or whales since we left Capetown. The only birds we have seen is an albatross or two. They seem to fly around the boat in the morning and then around dinnertime. I never see them actually catch anything they seem to just glide around us and the waves. Of course there are flying fish banging into the cockpit once in a while at night. That sounds never ceases to cause a fright in a moment.

Chessie is planning to make landfall early in the morning. If we keep flying like we are we might get there very early also. Ocean J is not far either as they will most likely be there late morning or early afternoon. We have 145miles to go. Some of the others that already made it to St. Helena must be on their way to Salvador. As Jochem and Bill were talking on the SSB I could faintly hear their voices. They should have some good winds to start them on their way.

We start our day off today with preparations to make landfall tomorrow. It is exciting to see a new place. It will be nice to get on land and exercise these rusty legs again.

Rosemary, Bill and Matt
