Jus'Do It 3 - recovery day!

Saturday 28th June

A very quiet morning in the bay. Ian and Stewy go over to Quasar for breakfast and to meet with the others and discuss routes. Ian and Annie go ashore and walk to the old cemetery – it’s up in the woods behind the village but sadly, is very poorly maintained although around 1200 people are buried here. There’s apparently an old path which takes you to the other end of the island but after walking through the coconut groves we fail to find it so return to the boat for some lunch before heading to another part of the reef to snorkel. Stewy’s having a chill out day aboard. Again, the snorkelling in the coral gardens is spectacular but the highlight is swimming over three giant clams which are 3 – 4 feet across and are still alive and functioning. There are also two empty ones but Ian tells Annie in no uncertain terms that they are not even attempting to get one home! They head ashore next where they are surprised to hear a Tarzan cry from the jungle – it’s James up a tree! They all stroll along the beach then head back to Cleone for sundowners before a very early night!
