Talulah Ruby II - Talulahrubians in Paradise

Well we have been in the Marquesas for 10 days now and have visited 3 islands with 2 more to go, befor heading S.W. to The Tuamatos Islands. The peopla are so friendly, the scenery here is absolutely stunning and we have never seen so many fruit trees: grapefruit, mangoes, coconut and of course bananas. We have many as gifts from the locals.

We have been diving seeing huge Manta rays and turtles and thousands of colourful fish.

Last night we had dinner with a local family in Hanavave Bay, Fatu Hiva. They made a real feast of raw tuna in Coconut, BBQ chicken, fish and veal, breadfruit, bananas, all washed down with fresh lemonade.Afterwards we had traditional singing and dancing. The whole family are wood and stone carvers and after looking at the goods we decided to buy a beautiful wood carved Tiki. After a visit to church this morning, we went back to the carvers' workshop, how they produce such lovely work in such primitive conditions is amazing.

Also this morning we had about 8 local kids on board and treated them to normal western fayre of coka, chocs and popcorn, they really enjoyed it especially the ride out in the dinghy.
