Paw Paw - Log Day 179: On the Move Again

Roy was up early to get to the supermarket in the hopes of finding eggs that may have been offloaded overnight from the supply ship that had arrived. Unfortunately he returned empty-handed as far as eggs go, but he was laden with freshly baked French pastries - the last that we would enjoy for some time to come.

Then it was a quick call to Kiwi Beanz on the VHF radio under the disguise of "Endeavour" asking them if they were "ready to go for breakfast"; our prearranged ploy to let them know we were ready to leave our mooring ball so that they could get to it before everyone else in the anchorage who was hanging around waiting on a ball freeing up - Hens teeth have nothing on mooring balls in the Society Leeward Islands. With the switch over successfully completed we waved our goodbyes to them and all aboard Nina. Paw Paw was on the move again!

Tonight, under a very dark moonless night, the stars are starting to peek out as the clouds start to clear. We are motor-sailing in good seas after motoring all day in the light winds that were forecasted. If the forecast holds, we should pick up the decent winds early tomorrow morning at which time we can turn off the engine and enjoy a good sail to Surwarrow.
