Sookie - Daily Logs 2 & 3

Hello all.

After a good overnight's sail in the company of a few other boats the sun arose yesterday with a red sky and sucked away all the wind.  The Iron sail (mister Lister, Perkins or in our case Dutch tin sailor Yan Mar was fired up and is still grumbling along now 34 Hours later.  Yesterday we had the privilege of witnessing a group (bunch?, school? Gaggle? Herd) of dolphins rounding up and containing a fish ball for feeding upon less than a hundred yards off of our starboard bow. Just like the real thing on telly.  Four big fish got away with two expensive lures and two through amazing knot untying agility.  We have also worked it out that it is cheaper for us to eat out at an expensive fish restaurant than to catch our own. All said there is nothing like taking your catch from the sea. into the pan and dined upon before sundown.

Today we have motored, and motor sailed all day due to the lack of wind and the outlook is very indeterminate for the next 24 hours.  However the sea is like a mill pond and we continually see the small and larger flying fish skimming just above the surface of the ocean and its breathtaking clarity and deep-bluefullness  (new word for Sookie's dictionary).   You feel that you can see all the way to the bottom of the ocean and beyond (Buzz lightyear).  We have fished and lost no equipment today.  That is because we have caught nothing today!
