Hello everybody!
All is going smoothly on the mighty Incisor. We are still
heading towards St. Lucia which is always a bonus! Our VMG (Velocity made good-
or as Derek’s son would say” VMG is king smack down”) is
improving all the time which is what it’s all about. Now our VMG has
improved over the last couple of days, we should start to look a bit better
against the other yacht in our class. Our tactics have paid off as many of them
are heading into a very light patch, whereas we have some steady trade winds.
The first boat has finished already and its making us all work a little harder
to get there quicker.
We have lightened the boat by eating the rest of the bacon
and some tinned peaches today. Very refreshing when they have been in the
fridge for the morning.
Today we have achieved and completed our first spinnaker
peel. It all went very successfully especially considering we were peeling with
the spinnaker pole and not those simple A-sails! (You Tuesday nighters know
what I’m on about!) Hoping to achieve another before the sunlight goes to
put up a heavier kite for the night. Let’s hope it all goes as swimmingly
as the first.
Today has been the hottest day so far and there is no-where
to run from it. But this is what we all came for and it’s lush! We are
trying to savour it before the rain comes on Saturday.
From all of us on Incisor
