La Cigale - Day 5 - 23 November - On a roll of the dice
La Cigale - Day 5 - 23 November - On a roll of the dice
Learning to piece together more and more of the sky at night like some giant astronomical jigsaw puzzle. Just as I had figured out Pegasus last night on watch, I sighted a shooting star to the west. Made a wish for the well-being of the journey, though maybe I should have been more specific about winds as we are motoring right now and heading towards skirting a gale! TOGINA has long since passed ahead, and this morning we were in company of SKIATHOS and BAHARII. We consulted the ARC t-shirt and surprises to find the latter is not part of the ARC. "Maybe she's on her way to Canada..." observed Helen ;-) Our course is a bit of a gamble, fingers crossed it pays off!
It was apt then to spend the rest of the morning learning a new dice game - "Dudo" (Spanish for "I doubt") - thanks to Harley, as played in Pirates of The Caribbean. Very addictive. This afternoon we switched to card games. Wonder if we'll come to regret teaching kids concept of a poker face - they are quick learners and racing demons!
