Abraxas 3 - Another night with spinnaker towards Mindelo

Our big 200 sqm spinnaker has been up for two full days now, but the wind is light so progress is slow towards Mindelo. Our latest estimate for arrival there is now Saturday afternoon or evening, and with our zigzagging downwind we will by then have sailed more than 1.000 nautical miles.
Unfortunately our choice of route have been far from perfect so at best it will be a mediocre result, but so far we have been sailing 100 % of the time, and it might be that a lot of the boats in front have been motoring for extensive periods so maybe their times will be adjusted quite a bit in our favour.

Right now we are on port gybe after midnight gybe from our westerly position compared with all our competitors. Wind is light with between 5-9 knots, but the direction from east north east is quite favourable and takes us more or less directly towards Mindelo.

At the next change of watches we will have to take the spinnaker down for a quick repair, as there apparently is something 15 meter up in the mast that the light spinnaker cloth get snagged on.

Otherwise all smiles and everything thing is good as we eat our way through our fruit bought in Las Palmas.
