Bluewaft - Bluewaft Log Day 12: Wind at last!

Bluewaft Log Day 12
Thursday 1 December 2016
19°17’.744N 038°37’.686W
Wind at last! We’ve been sailing since 8pm last night. We put the
genakker up this morning and have a VMG of 6 kts. Hopefully the wind will
stick to forecast and build over the coming days.
And the fishing drought is also over. A good sized Bonito and a Mahi Mahi
(and an even bigger one that snapped the line 2m from the back step). We
even had a flying fish on board this morning!
The Egrets (Igor and Ingrid) are still with us and making themselves (very)
comfortable around the boat. Igor spends most of his time during the day
around the bar, while Ingrid spends her time in the herb garden and the
galley. We just need to work on their toilet training (– although Ingrid
spend some time and did some business in Alex’s bathroom…). This domestic
bliss was nearly upset yesterday by a white parrot interloper (certainly a
long way out to sea!). She was chased off by Ingrid and domestic bliss
returned.
We reached the half-way point yesterday and celebrated at Sun-downers with
foie gras and madeira. For dinner we had Sushi and BBQ bonito…
Looking forward to more wind and fish today…
