Ximera - Day 6 - Still no fish ?!

19∞ 59.68 N - 22∞00.95 W --> 17∞42.34 ˘N - 22∞08.40 W

In six days, three fishing lines swimming at our stern 12/24h, not a single fish. Only a little fliyng fish on our deck. The only fish at these latitudes, for us, are in cans bought in a Las Palmas supermarket. What a shame for our two aspiring fisherman onboard...

Sea-bucket showers is the consolation sport for them.

We are finally close to Cape Verde, but according to our lecture of the weather forecast it is better to leave these former Portuguese islands to starboard, heading more or less to Dakar.

In the night log Will wrote: 'Sacrificing direction for speed. Better wind to East. Lots of rain showers elsewere'. And then Piers reply on the log: 'GPS given up on ETA and TTD (Time to Destination). Probably thinks we're idiots on this heading'. Anyway, we've had just a little bit of rain, we can watch from a safe distance the big lightning storm to the West of us, we're doing 7 knots and everybody is happy ... apart from our GPS!

P.S. As we're running out of basil, we will ask the Arc team if we can stop in Cape Verde (or Dakar?) to 'refuel' our herbs?!
