Paw Paw - Log Days 303 & 304: It's a Strange, Strange World We Live In....

Well,  our plans have changed again. We decided that, since the weather was so miserable here, Elaine may as well spend her time in a cold climate with family, so most of yesterday was spent booking her flights to England / Ireland via Dubai. The remainder of the day was spent visiting doctor's and physiotherapy offices in the hope of getting her ankle examined.

Unfortunately we couldn't get a physiotherapy appointment for two weeks, but we did manage to get a doctor's appointment for today.  Armed with some medication and exercises, we're hoping for a marked improvement over the coming weeks.

Last night we enjoyed dinner at the Opua Cruising Club with Blue Summit and a host of other cruisers whom we've met over the past few days and this evening we enjoyed our first barbecue in New Zealand - It eventually warmed up for one day at least!

Today we had more errands to run after returning from the doctor, but, most importantly we arranged a caretaker to look after Paw Paw in our absence and got all the jobs which required both of us to be onboard completed.  With that out of the way, Elaine can now look forward to her time with family and friends in the UK before she heads to Arizona,  where she'll meet Roy for the holiday season and festivities with Keenan,  Brooke and the grandchildren.

Roy, of course, is definitely not going to be short of company or activities during the intervening weeks as he's registered for the All Points rally events which commences on Friday.

One final note for this blog update is to let you all know that this will be the last update to the World ARC's website until we rejoin that rally. Our blog on our personal website at www.whereispawpaw.com will continue to be updated, however,  so feel free to follow us there.

Finally, although we didn't vote, and, therefore cannot complain about the outcome of the elections, it appears America will be joining the ranks of other great world leaders of countries like South Africa, Zimbabwe, etc. At least we're getting more value for our money in New Zealand as the world markets tank and we may well consider applying for temporary asylum for the next four years! It's a strange, strange world we live in....
