PG Roshni - 23/11 2000 Sewing

15 57.1N 41:24.0W

Evening all from Mid Atlantic 100nm to the half way mark for us.

The leech repair to the main held fine in the night where we had some 40kn sessions of exciting breeze and some BIG seas. Thankfully we reefed down and controlled our downwind speed which was getting a bit hairy when your arse gets pushed around so much by the big waves :).

Sadly the sail repair tape didn't hold though so we dropped the main again this morning - you wouldn't want to be sailing up wind here - I got very very wet at the mast flaking the sail and looking head on at the 3m + waves is quite a sight if not a little emotional as you hang on to the mast !
We dropped the boom back into the cockpit again by removing the kicker and started sewing patches on the split sail made out of the Bimini cover fabric - sorry Liz and HCS who made it.
Susan and I created a manual sewing machine technique which speeded things up a but we still have another 3 hours to do tomorrow morning when I think it'll be good enough to get us in.
To add to the tool kit - 1 sewing machine and spare sail material...

In other news been making plenty of water so showers all round and I don't smell too bad.
I cooked an eclectic mix of stir fry rice we chorizo and green curry topping ! Jamie eat your heart out but the rice did come from Sainsburys.

All in good spirits after disappointment at losing our place in the pack.
