Exocet Strike - Day 10 from Galapagos to Marquesas

Another great sailing day 192 miles noon to noon. Lit will be interesting to see what happens now  since the wind has dropped a little and gone more to the east. We are now on a run, with the genoa poled out.
After 11 days of sailing Juno is approx 20 miles ahead of us and Garlix 16 miles behind, in fact Garlix is now on our AIS, its quite nice to know we are in reasonable close company with other boats. Some of the other boats in our fleet are now 5 to 600 miles to our east.

On another subject we are saddened to hear that the island group of Vanuatu has been hit hard by Tropical Cyclone Pam, it was a category 5 storm, the highest on the grading, in the Atlantic it would be called a hurricane.  We are scheduled to call at this island chain in July, it remains to be seen if that is possible. There are usually cyclones at this time of year in the western Pacific, but not usually such powerful ones.
