Exody - Day 18 - 27 November - Half way across!

More of the same as yesterday though a rather uncomfortable sea at night and for the first part of the morning. A bit overcast but sun getting through strongly and trades continue to blow from the East at circa 20 knots.

We passed the half way point at 01.00 boat time Thursday morning (03.00 UTC) and then our noon position from the ARC yellowbrick email showed 995 miles to run and a good 24 hour average of 6 knots- so we are still reasonably on track and keep our fingers crossed the trades keep blowing for the next week.

Sailplan unchanged (single poled out genny) though we did unsuccessfully try and fly the yankee loose luffed this afternoon - main problem being no winch for the available halyard so will try again tomorrow with a bit more forward planning.

Fish (sadly canned not caught!) risotto arising from the galley by Marian's hand as I write - the culinary standards remain high.

As we go into the second week we are all amazed how quickly the days go fairly effortlessly by.

Peter (Skipper)
